Covering all aspects of domestic gas safety, this in-depth, industry-approved gas safety course is designed for people looking to enter the gas industry for the first time.
The IGQ (Initial Gas Qualification) gas safety course requires entrants to undertake at least 280 Guided Learning Hours of ‘off job’ study and to shadow a qualified Gas Safe registered engineer to complete a portfolio of evidence and gain direct experience.
If you already have natural gas experience but want to expand your knowledge to encompass liquid petroleum gas (LPG), our LPG course covers the difference between the two fuel gases, including installation, servicing and repairs. The LPG gas safety course can include any or all of the following:
Do you need to renew your domestic ACS accreditation? You must hold or have previously held an ACS in domestic natural gas in order to re-assess your qualification.
If you are already an experienced and qualified gas engineer but want to increase your skills, this series of assessments is designed to do just that.
Do you want to specialise in LPG? Predominantly for gas engineers working in the leisure industry, this gas safety course is designed for those who carry out installation and maintenance work on domestic LPG appliances and pipework.
Want to add extra appliances to your current portfolio? Then this course is for you!
Whatever gas safety course you choose, you can be assured that with GTA, you will get all the attention you need to progress in your career. We have a maximum class size of 8 for all courses run at the centre and adhere to the latest Covid-19 guidelines.
Gas safety courses are run every week, Monday to Friday, 50 weeks per year, with other topics (water, electric etc) organised on an adHoc basis.
As you are in a classroom environment, you will not be required to wear full PPE, unless you are more comfortable in your work uniform.
Please ensure that your phone is on silent while you are participating in your chosen gas safety course. Please note that no electronic devices are allowed in the assessment area.
Complimentary teas and coffees are available throughout the day; fridges and microwaves can be used to store and reheat any food you would like to bring with you. Alternatively, snack wagons visit the centre each day.
