Gas training courses Laindon – the local areas

Laindon is an commuter town between Basildon and West Horndon, Essex. With a population of approximately 37,000, Laindon was an ancient parish that was abolished in 1937.

In 1934, the parish became part of Billericay Urban District, which was then renamed Basildon Urban District just over 20 years later.

Laindon’s railway station is on the London, Tilbury and Southend line.

In Rayleigh we have some key places to visit:

Rayleigh Windmill - built in 1809: Tourist and educational Grade II listed building, which is a popular wedding venue and ideal for other celebrations. The Windmill also contains a museum, an exhibition space and information about Rayleigh Mount.

Rayleigh Mount - urban wildlife haven: Also known as Rayleigh Castle. Rayleigh Mount was a masonry and timber castle built in the 11th century soon after the Norman conquest.

Rayleigh Town Museum - open in 2016: The Rayleigh Town Museum is located on the top floor of 91 High Street, Rayleigh which is a Grade II listed building which is a former timber-framed house dating from at least the 16th century. A registered charity runs the small museum.

Rayleigh Indoor Karting - all-weather racing: Rayleigh Indoor Karting's 200cc karts can explore the circuit which has fast straights, hairpin bends and a bridge. So much fun to be had by all.
