Our IGQ New Entrants Course is perfect for someone looking for entry into the gas industry, this course is an industry approved Managed Learning Programme (MLP).

It's necessary for everyone on the course to undertake a minimum of 280 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) of ‘off job’ study.

Candidates must also shadow a qualified Gas Safe registered (GSR) engineer to gain first hand job experience and complete a portfolio of evidence.
Once the Initial Gas Qualification (IGQ) has been achieved, you can then undertake Domestic Natural Gas ACS assessments in Core Gas Safety (CCN1) plus appliances such as CENWAT (boilers and water heaters) and others that you have gained experience in working on via your portfolio and have received training via the MLP programme
Once you've been successful in the above you are able to register with Gas Safe to become a Gas Safe Registered (GSR) engineer which will then allow you to legally work in the Domestic Natural Gas industry anywhere in the UK.

Gas Training & Assessment is a registered UK Certification Ltd Centre and is one of the UK’s national training providers to have been approved by IGEM via UK Certification Ltd to deliver the new IGQ. By choosing GTA you will be given the best opportunity to enhance your skills.
