The eight annual Gas Safety Week is taking place from September 17th until 23rd. During the week, numerous UK organisations will be pledging their support and raising awareness of the dangers of poorly maintained gas appliances.
Simply put, if installed incorrectly or poorly maintained, a gas appliance can cause CO poisoning, gas leaks, fires or explosions. Carbon monoxide poisoning alone affects more than 1,000 people per year and can be fatal, which is why gas safety is vitally important all year round. However, by focusing awareness about the potential dangers in one week, it is far more likely to have a greater impact on the general public.
This is where you as a gas installer comes in. Businesses that take part in Gas Safety Week are doing their bit to help protect their customers. In return, you will benefit from a range of benefits provided by the Gas Safe Register. This includes a free toolkit full of relevant gas safety content that you can add to your website and share with your customers and greater brand awareness for your business – everyone who supports Gas Safety Week 2018 will appear on the Gas Safe Register’s website.
